Sibley Lake Park
In 1836, the famed French scientist Joseph Nicollet passed right in front of this overlook on his way to Itasca, and on that occasion, gave the lake its name in honor of the great fur trader and pioneer Henry Hastings Sibley.
Sibley Lake Park is located on Sibley Lake between West Grove Street and West Sibley Street on Pequot Blvd. There is a boat access on North Oak Street. Bring your picnic basket and fishing rod and enjoy the day. Park amenities include a fishing pier, playground, picnic tables, charcoal grill, and a picnic shelter. The picnic shelter can be reserved for special occasions by contacting the City Hall at 218-568-5222.
