Pequot Lakes Police Department seeks applications for an immediate full-time Police Officer opening. Applicants must be highly motivated, dedicated to community service, with a strong work ethic and communication skills.

Interested persons must submit a letter of interest, a resume, and a city application.

Minimum qualifications: Applicants must possess an AA or AAS degree from an accredited institution, must be MN POST licensed or eligible to be licensed at the time of application, and possess a valid Minnesota Driver's License.

Preferred qualifications: EMT or Paramedic certification, DRE certification, SFST instructor, and Phlebotomist trained. Lateral transfers are encouraged to apply with additional salary and benefit considerations to be given based upon experience and current budget.

Pequot Lakes is a tourist destination located two hours north of the Twin Cities that has tremendous fishing, boating and hunting opportunities with a very supportive community. The current schedule includes 11 and 12-hour shifts, working seven days every two weeks, with every other weekend off. Competitive benefit package includes health insurance, city contribution to an HSA account, health and wellness incentives, ten paid holidays, competitive vacation, and a take-home patrol car with residency within the policy boundaries. Other benefits include a uniform allowance, robust training and instructor opportunities. The salary range for this position is $24.60 to $31.97 per hour based on Union contract for 2021 (current contract is in it​s final year). Qualifying applicants will go through an interview process. Finalist(s) will be required to successfully complete a thorough background investigation, as well as a medical and psychological evaluation.
